About Dr. Stephanie

Dr. Stephanie is a pediatric psychologist with over 20 years of experience working as a doctoral-level therapist with children, teens and their families. She has a special interest in working with children and teens on the autism spectrum as well as children who struggle with anxiety, ADHD and/or OCD.

Dr. Stephanie earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and her PhD from Indiana State University. She completed her internship and fellowship through Emory University. She is a native of Kentucky who loves spending time with her husband, two children and two dogs (Moose and Scout) and playing music with her friends.

Types of Services Provided

Dr. Stephanie primarily uses cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in her treatment but also borrows from DBT, ACT, and IFS. Sessions typically last around 55 minutes; usually about 10-15 minutes are devoted to communicating and collaborating with parents or caregivers. Telehealth services are offered to KY residents when appropriate. Psychological evaluation (i.e., testing for AD/HD, learning disorders, autism spectrum disorder, etc.) is not a service provided by this clinic.

Dr. Stephanie will work with you and your child to help clarify the goals for treatment. She has experience in treating a wide range of problems, but specializes in treating anxiety and the difficulties often experienced by individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Neurodivergence is valued and celebrated in this office!

Please be aware that after school appointment times are limited. Your child/ teen will likely miss school for therapy. A doctor’s note can be provided.

Social skills groups are also offered! These groups are organized by grade and typically meet weekly at 4:15pm. The focus is on building conversational skills, flexibility in social interactions, and social confidence in a fun, laid-back environment!

Insurance and Payment

Health Insurance plans accepted include United (Optum), Aetna and Cigna (Evernorth). Dr. Stephanie does not accept Anthem Blue Cross/ Blue Shield or Medicaid and does not provide Employer Assistance Program services.

For those families who prefer to pay out-of-pocket rather than using insurance benefits, the cost is $175/ session. Services are reimbursable through FSA and HSA. If you choose to pay out-of-pocket you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE).
